Jessie's Journey of Hope/

On Behalf of my entire family I would like to Thank You for visiting our site and helping us fulfill Jessica’s dream of helping other families as they face the most terrible ordeal of their lives. The six years prior to losing our Jessica were filled with a roller coaster of emotions.  Jessica’s parents were true warriors who never gave up hope and sacrificed everything to save their daughter’s life.  Parents of children with this beastly disease are unlike anyone we will ever meet.  They possess an inner strength that many of us ever imagine and the dignity and grace in which they suffer is a lesson I will personally carry with me throughout my life.

During the darkest hours of her illness, it was truly special people that carried Jessica and her family through.  Her older brother Mark was a young man to be admired with his selfless personality and endless support and compassion.  Jessica knew that Mark along with his girlfriend Kristin, were always there for her.  My sister-in law and brother were also blessed with kind and compassionate co-workers and bosses that never thought twice about allowing them to miss work or leave early, and also provided much needed additional financial support whenever possible.The numerous fund raisers held throughout the years by the caring residents of Woodbridge, N.J. helped offset many of the overwhelming medical and travel expenses. Her many Aunts, Uncles and loving Cousins never let a week go by without a card, call or special gift.  Her “Cousin’s Club” surrounded her with love and support that I know she treasured.  Sunday visits with Grandma Lee were a special gift of moments to both Jess and my Mom.

It is said that “Friends are the Family we choose for ourselves” and Mark and Michele were surrounded by special friends and are filled with heartfelt gratitude for each of them.
